BuckFifty — Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 27, 2026

BuckFifty ("we", "us") is a receipt price-drop alert app operated by BuckFifty. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we never collect.

What we collect

Receipt photos: processed, never kept

Your receipt photo is sent, encrypted, to our receipt-reading provider (Anthropic's Claude API) solely to extract the items on it. We do not store your receipt photos — not in our database, not in cloud storage. The photo exists only long enough to be read. The provider processes it under its commercial API terms and does not use it to train models.

How we use your information

We do not sell your information. We do not use your receipts for advertising profiles. There are no third-party ad trackers in the app.

Who else processes data (sub-processors)

Retention and deletion

Your line items and claims stay until you delete them or delete your account. You can delete your account and all associated data from inside the app or by emailing us; deletion completes within 30 days, including backups. Receipt photos are never retained at all.

Your rights

Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) you may ask what personal information we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. Contact us below — we respond within 30 days.

Children

BuckFifty is for warehouse-club shoppers and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children's information.

Independence

BuckFifty is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any warehouse retailer. Prices and savings offers are compiled from publicly published sources; warehouse prices vary by location and offers are not guaranteed.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will note it here and, where practical, in the app before the change takes effect.
